Committee Overview

The following Committee Overview outlines details of each committee charter and activities. Any member in good standing is invited to serve on a committee.

The Chamber is always looking for volunteer assistance from its members. For more information or if you wish to offer your volunteer services, please contact Dawn Sharpe Brackett, CEO at (985) 643-5678.

 
Ambassadors Club – 
This group serves as the first point of contact for a new member after recruitment. Its purpose is to fulfill the first step of our new membership retention efforts by informing them of programs, services and benefits and by mentoring them. Encourages attendance at ribbon cuttings, grand openings, Business after Hours.
 
Business Support Committee -
This Committee stands ready to help market and promote your business whether it is a ribbon-cutting, grand-opening or other special event. The Business Support Committee also looks for innovative and new ways to provide assistance that is relative and timely in our unique business environment.
 
Membership Committee - Retention, Recruitment, Communications
Recruiting new members and retaining existing members is our highest priority. This committee is involved with communications, internal services assessment analysis and the creation of member marketing satisfaction strategies that will help the chamber respond to the specific needs of our membership.
 
Business Advisory - Education/Scholarship, Seminars
This Committee is dedicated to helping members stay up to date with current issues and solutions by providing seminars, workshops, individual consulting and other venues for useful information. A key project this year will be a membership survey to identify and prioritize member’s needs and create the programs that will respond to those topics.
 
Public Policy - Legislative Issues, Local Government Coalitions
The committee is focused on the local parish and statewide governmental issues. It shall productively work with members and our other chamber offices to identify issues that affect all of our business interests which may be affected by governmental action or inaction. It will also work to build coalitions with others who share the issues with the mission of communicating with chamber’s positions on such issues to support our member’s interests.
